Welcome to Milwaukee County and a special welcome to finan- cial representatives attending the Northwestern Mutual annual meeting. As Milwaukee County Executive, I invite you to share in all the amazing things our county offers, from the "Adventure Dinosaur" exhibit at the Milwaukee County Zoo to the world-class Milwaukee Art Museum. Be sure to visit our gorgeous Milwaukee County Parks and bask in the beautiful weather along the lakefront. Milwaukee County offers countless summer activities. You can watch our Milwaukee Brewers in action as they defend their National League Central title, enjoy some sun or play volleyball at the always-vibrant Bradford Beach or play a round at one of the many affordable Milwaukee County golf courses. July also means Summerfest, the world's largest music festival, along with Festa Italiana and German Fest, also at the Summerfest grounds. Please make sure to enjoy what Milwaukee County has to offer. You, your family and friends will be glad you did. Sincerely, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele Tom Barrett, Mayor Summer evenings are alive with music in Milwaukee. Enjoy Jazz in the Park at Cathedral Square, Live at the Lakefront at Discovery World and River Rhythms at Pere Marquette Park along the Milwaukee River. You can find music at county parks and neighborhood festivals that prove Milwaukee to be a wonderfully musical city. This year Milwaukee added a brand new public music venue, the BMO Harris Pavilion at Henry Maier Festival Park. It has 5,000 covered seats along with room for the same number of standees. Indoor venues like the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, the Milwaukee Theatre and the Basilica of St. Josephat also provide perfect settings for great music. In the past, Milwaukee had a number of talented may- ors who enjoyed public singing. They would enthusias- tically lead spirited renditions of anthems, polkas, and sing-alongs. Thank goodness, such mayoral perform- ances aren't demanded by the public. At a minimum, we invite everyone to hum along. Sincerely,
