Users could be jailed for 5 years while manufactures face 10 years inside for ignoring the law. The advice from policewoman Sirirat Piankaew on the "Muat Ka" page comes in the wake of the justice minister's call for amphetamines to be taken off the narcotics list. Much confusion still reigns about the legality of e-cigarettes, reported Daily News. Piankaew said that while there is actually no law forbidding the posses- sion of e-cigarettes they fall into a category of goods that have not had tax levied on them and their possession therefore is illegal. Offenders could face five years of jail time or a fine of four times the value of the goods or both jail and a fine. The importation, sale, and produc- tion for sale of e-cigarettes is also illegal with offenders liable to 10-year sentenc- es for production and sale and a fine of five times the value of the goods or both. This law has been on the statute since December 2014. All services associated with the smoking and promotion of e-cigarettes are also banned. New Zealand E-Cig Status Changes Afoot Associate health minister Peseta Sam Lotu-liga has released a consultation document today which proposes change to the legal status of e-cigarettes. "Currently the sale and supply of e-cigarettes containing nicotine is prohibited in New Zealand, said Lotu Iiga. "However people are buying them online and importing directly for personal use. The proposal is to make the sale and supply of all e-cigarettes lawful in New Zealand with appropriate controls. The proposals would mean restricting the sale of e-cigarettes to people aged 18 years and over. The changes would prevent e-cigarettes being advertised and ban their use in smoke- free areas. "We also have to consider various quality and safety issues which may pose health risks to users and non-users. Ensuring e-liquids are sold in child proof containers to prevent accidental poisoning is one obvious safety mea- sure," Lotu-Iiga said. "E-cigarettes are relatively new and evolving products. There is scientific consensus that they are less harmful than tobacco cigarettes. I welcome feedback from the public on the future regulation and control of e-cigarettes," Lotu-Iiga announced. Consultation submissions are scheduled to be closing at 5pm on September 12, 2016. US Chef Releases Vape Juice Cloudride is pleased to announce that it is bringing the first vape juice flavors created by a James Beard Award winning chef to market. Fully manufactured in New Jersey under cGMP conditions in a facility ran by veterans of Dow and Proctor & Gamble, Cloudride's mission is to deliver the best tasting and safest e-liquid to users of vaporizers and e-cigarettes around the world. Cloudride's e-juice flavors are developed by Jason Stevens who won the America's Classic James Beard Award in 2011 for his work as executive chef of Watts Tea Shop in Milwaukee. The James Beard Awards are the highest honor in the culinary space and com- monly referred to as "the Oscars for food". Chef Stevens has taken his passion for unique flavor combinations in an entirely new direction and injected a level of sophistication and quality heretofore unseen in the vape juice industry. "Being a longtime smoker and chef, I was instantly intrigued at the possibili- ties provided by e-liquids," says Stevens. "I've always loved experimenting with different flavors and tastes, and I immediately gravitated towards making my own vape juice when I decided to switch from cigarettes to using a vaporizer. With Cloudride I feel like I'm giving people the opportunity to combine an exciting tasting experience with a better life choice and it has truly taken my creativity to new heights." Available in 18 flavors between 2 distinct collections, Cloudride offers something for nearly every palate and budget. The C9 collection is a premium offering of 6 one of a kind vape juice flavors like Tabac Elope, a cured Virginia tobacco mixed with cantaloupe and butterscotch, and Tale of Taro which blends the taro root with crème fraîche and strawberries. The classic collection offers a more economical choice of e-liquid with 12 crowd pleasing flavors like chocolate cake, raspberry lemonade, and watermelon menthol. All Cloudride flavors are free from diacetyl, acetoin, acetyl propionyl, and other diketones, and the company has pledged to comply with all FDA regulations both now and in the future. The company has already secured numerous distribution deals and expects to be widely available in vape shops, convenience stores, and other retailers nationwide within the next few months. UK E-Cigs Help Reduce Exposure New peer-reviewed research recently published in the Journal of Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods shows that smokers who completely substitute conventional cigarettes with commercial e-cigarettes experience dramatic reduc- tions in exposure to harmful chemicals that are thought to contribute to tobacco- related diseases, not that dissimilar to complete smoking cessation. The clinical findings measured the changes in 15 biomarkers of exposure to harmful and potentially harmful constituents (HPHCs) – reported by FDA to be significant contributors to smoking-associated disease risks, including carbon monoxide, aldehydes, and tobacco-specific nitrosamines – in the urine, blood, and exhaled breath of 105 adult smokers during a five-day controlled trial. "To provide comparative informa- tion for this study, we split participants into three groups," explained Dr. Grant O'Connell, vice president of corporate and regulatory affairs of Fontem Ventures, an e-cigarette company based in the Netherlands. "Importantly, we requested the first group abstain from tobacco and vaping entirely to give us a
