18 OCTOBER 2016 | FUEL OIL NEWS | www.fueloilnews.com BLACKMER® NP SERIES SLIDING VANE PUMPS Blackmer® NP Series Sliding Vane Pumps have been designed to provide efficient transfer for a wide variety of bulk-storage operations, in applications such as load- ing and unloading, transfer, mixing and blending. The NP Series pumps can meet the needs of these demanding applications because they have been designed for the handling of clean, non-corrosive liquids at varying temperatures, pressures and viscosities. NP pumps offer maxi- mum versatility while sustaining a high-level of performance and trouble-free operation. NP Series pumps are available in five sizes, with port sizes from 1.5 to 4-inch. They feature flow rates from 5 to 500 gpm (19 to 1,893 lpm) at operating temperatures up to 500°F (260°C). NP Series pumps feature Blackmer's revolutionary sliding-vane-technology principles, which guarantee consistent volumetric-output performance, even after significant in-service time. This eliminates the efficiency-robbing "slip" that shortens lobe and gear pump life, and improves production yields by strip- ping lines of residual product. Generates a unique, pulsed — and intrinsically safe — electrical signal that is transmitted to the sensors via a coiled cord and optic-format plug. When sensors on the transport are dry a signal is returned to the monitor. If the signal meets pre-determined characteristics the monitor goes to a "permissive" state, which changes the status light on the front of the 8100 Series Optic Rack Monitor from red ("non-permissive") to green ("permissive"). If the sensor becomes wet, the relay is opened and the status light changes from green to red (non-permissive), shutting down the loading process. The Model 8130 Optic Monitor with Ground Verification includes displayed status of the optic sen- sor ("permissive" or "non-permissive") and mode of operation.
