OCTOBER 2016 23 THE JOURNAL Being ready and fully prepared is one of the critical things you can do to get the "jump" on your competition! Luckily, there's one unique and easy-to-participate forum where you can gather all your opportunities and combine them with timely insights to create the ultimately suc- cessful business strategies for your company. The Louisville Manufactured Housing Show is now recognized as the industry's PREMIER IN- DOOR MANUFACTURED HOUSING SHOW in the world! In existence for over 50 years, this annual show brings out an array of new home de- signs, the latest in technology, the best in sup- pliers' offerings and a look at all the newest amenities and system-built options the industry offers. There is no other industry forum where you can pull together such a wealth of informa- tion in one place to build your blueprint for suc- cess. The 2017 Show will be held January 18-19-20. Being held again at the Kentucky Exposition Center, 57 model homes will be on display, along with an expanded offering of industry seminars, and more than ample time to network with in- dustry contacts and friends. Last year's successful show attracted 1571 builder/developers, retailers, community own- ers/operators, and installers representing 598 dif- ferent companies. Overall reviews gave us feedback that our exhibitors were extremely pleased with the attendance and traffic flow at the 2016 Show. Sales were made, business was brisk, and the degree of enthusiasm expressed by exhibitors and attendees was most rewarding. For the upcoming 2017 Show, service com- panies and suppliers will number in the hundreds. Supplier exhibitors, crucial to our industry, pro- vide vital services and products to the manufac- tured housing industry. Each year, this group of exhibitors showcases the newest technology, products and services being utilized by our indus- try, As an added benefit, the 2017 Show will fea- ture a much wider range of educational seminars tailored to provide real learning opportunities that directly improve business strategies and market- ing outreach efforts. The educational seminars for the 2017 Show will be expanded from just two days to all three days of the Show, along with moving the seminars so they are held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. each day. This expansion and revised schedule will result in 6 seminars/work- shops during the Show and give attendees more time to visit and see the homes and exhibits, while also providing more meaningful and rele- vant strategic information to attendees. The seminars/workshops will also focus on bringing in "more outside-the-industry" experts who can provide really important, strategic in- formation on key initiatives that attendees need to adopt to be more successful in their day-to- day business activities. The seminars will progress from the basics of marketing and advertising on the first day of the Show, to sales and financing strategies on the second day, to the third day's look at what national issues and trends the in- dustry needs to anticipate and incorporate into its marketplace strategies. The intent of this educa- tional seminar approach is to expand and accel- erate industry learning, growth and successes. The Crowne Plaza Hotel will again serve at the Show headquarters hotel. The Crowne Plaza is located directly across the street from the Ken- tucky Exposition Center, and is a mere three minutes from the Louisville Airport, There is ample, safe parking at the Kentucky Exposition Center and there could not be a more conven- ient show site. Timing is critically important as January is a prime time for The Louisville Show, as builder/developers, retailers, community own- ers/operators and installers want to place orders and have inventory delivered in time for the early selling season. This schedule allows everyone the time to investigate and compare competing man- ufacturers and supplier exhibitors. The Louisville Show will once again use QMS of Alpharetta, GA to facilitate our online regis- tration system. Their web link service provides fast and efficient registration both before and dur- ing the Show. "What all of this means is that the manufac- tured housing industry must work together to make the Louisville Show a success, including a promotional campaign where all bases are cov- ered, and every prospect contacted. This pro- fessional marketing campaign begins months ahead of the Show, and we use all the tactics at our disposal.
