www.cheersonline.com 33 October 2016 • (89) Spaten-Franziskaner-Brau Hefe- Weissbier (Munich, Germany). This traditional German unfi ltered wheat beer pours a hazy golden amber, leaving a nice fl uffy white head. You can smell the wheat and yeast. The beer's fl avor is all wheat upfront with typical Hefeweizen fl avors of banana, clove and bubblegum from the yeast. 5% ABV, 4 IBU. (89) Urban Chestnut "Schnickelfritz" Bavarian-Style Weissbier Ale (St. Louis, MO). Slightly hazy gold color, with persistent white head. Expressive clove aromas with citrus in the background. Clove and citrus interplay in the fl avor, with a little bready character and slight banana hints. Light in body, with a fresh crispness from medium carbonation. 4.8% ABV, 16 IBU. (88) Barley Forge Grandpa Tractor Dortmunder Export (Costa Mesa, CA). Spicy, grassy hops, black pepper, untoasted corn bread, buttermilk biscuits. Nice clean mouthfeel. Good acidity, fi rm hop character, but balanced fl avors overall. Another well- made beer by BF. 5% ABV. (87) Victory Festbier (Downingtown, PA). Grainy nose. Flavor is lightly toasted grain bread. Light grassy and spicy hop char- acter. Light caramel. Clean and balanced. Finishes dry. Spot on for the style, although there's a tad too much graininess in the fi nish. Still delicious. 5.6% ABV, 20 IBU. (86) Uinta "Ready Set Gose" (Salt Lake City, UT). Golden color in appearance, but expected haziness not there. On the nose: slight breadiness from the wheat component. Sour taste comes through with bit of wheat toast. Salt obvious on the fi nish. Coriander present, but didn't seem to contribute much to the overall character of the beer. Muted hop profi le. Light carbon- ation and body. Low alcohol levels and overall quaffability make this a nice sipper for warm weather. 4.0% ABD, 20 IBU. (83) Radeberger Pils (Radeberg, Germany). Golden color. Clear, with small head and slight lacing. Slight "skunky" aroma; not off-putting and seemed to blow off quickly. Mild, grassy hop bitterness throughout, with notes of spice and a faint underlying sweetness. Light body and sharp carbonation—this is an easy-drinker. Not an amazing German pilsner, but gets the job done. 4.8% ABV, 32 IBU. (81) Unita Brewing Flamingose (Salt Lake City, UT). A Gose-style beer brewed with pineapple and coriander. Pours a pale orange with a thin, white head. Slightly tart and an astringent fi nish. Pineapple taste is lost on me. 4.2% ABV, 23 IBU.
