Featured PRODUCTS Solinst Delivers Discrete Interval Sampling The Solinst Model 425 discrete interval sampler is designed to obtain representative groundwater samples from a specific sampling zone without the need for purging. The stainless steel sampler is connected to LDPE tubing, mounted on a conven- ient reel, and pressure activated using a hand pump. The sampler is pressurized before being lowered, and upon re- trieval, to prevent mixing. Pressure is released at the desired depth to obtain a sample. Discrete interval sampling is ideal for obtaining groundwater samples from below floating product layers, or for obtaining samples of the product itself. It can be used to profile open bodies of water and boreholes. www.solinst.com In-Situ Announces New Water Level Meters The In-Situ Inc. 100 and 200 water level meters are accurate, durable water level tapes designed for every project. Static and drawdown modes allow the same meter to be used for level readings and drawdown during low-flow/pump tests. The IP68-rated submersible probe is pressure rated up to 500 psi. A sensitiv- ity dial compensates for cascading water, and sensor design provides accu- rate measurements with almost zero dis- placement. An integrated well hanger and roller bar save time and money by both protecting the tape and speeding deployment. A five-year warranty is included and the meters are offered in lengths from 100 feet to 2000 feet. www.in-situ.com/wwj AquaLocate Technology Helps Develop Clean Water Resources For the past six years the Eleos Project, a nonprofit organization, has been developing clean water resources in Kenya, East Africa. After drilling many dry boreholes, the organization found Ervin Kramer and the AquaLo- cate technology and have increased their success rate to almost 100% and 1.8 million liters of water a day for people in Kenya. With the high cost of drilling new water wells, Mark Purington, executive director of the Eleos Project, says don't drill until you use this equipment or have a groundwater survey performed by a qualified operator. He says the potential savings is immense and the technology works worldwide. www.aqualocate.com waterwelljournal.com ...the instrument of choice for professionals worldwide Water Level Meters s Well Casing Indicators Well Depth Indicators s Data Loggers s Temperature Meters Conductivity Meters s Interface Meters s Pressure Transmitters Tag Lines s Borehole Inspection Cameras Made in Canada www.heroninstruments.com s 1-800 -331-2032 68 November 2016 WWJ
