(NYSE: PII) announced on Oct. 12 that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Transamerican Auto Parts Com- pany (TAP), a privately held, vertically integrated manufacturer, distributor, retailer and installer of off-road Jeep and truck accessories, for an aggregate consideration of $665 million, subject to customary closing adjustments. After adjusting for the $115 million estimated net present value of future tax benefits, the purchase price implies a multiple of approximately 9.0 times TAP's EBITDA for the 12 months ended Sept. 30, 2016. SEE PAGE 30 Multi-dealership Logan Powersports Group leads Power 50 BY LIZ KEENER MANAGING EDITOR For the second year in a row, Logan Powersports Group, with four locations in West Virginia and two in Kentucky, won the No. 1 dealer honor in the 2016 Powersports Business Power 50. Mike Ratz, Shane Keefer and Staci Keefer took to the stage during the fourth annual Power 50 dinner in Orlando, Florida, to accept the award. The naming of the No. 1 dealer con- cluded an Oct. 13 presentation that honored the 50 top dealers in North America. From those 50, three were named Best in Class award winners, and the top five were ranked. The competition was stiff this year, as a record number of dealers applied for the Power 50 pro- gram. In addition, the Power 50 dealers were supported by more sponsors than ever before, as CyclePro, Manheim Specialty Auctions, EFG Companies, Synchrony Financial and RpmOne all stepped up to honor the Power 50. LOGAN POWERSPORTS GROUP Coming in at No. 1, Logan Powersports Group was honored for its exceptional business practices in 2015. The group's perseverance resonated with the Powersports Business editors, who judged the competition. West Virginia and eastern Kentucky have been affected by layoffs that have not only hit the coal industry, but have trickled down to the entire community, as fewer resources are needed in the area. However, instead of giving up, Logan found several ways to increase revenue and drive its net profit to an exceptional level.
