Spanish Resources Will Be Available at Groundwater Week 2016 NGWA's Spanish safety DVDs—Drill Safe, Drill Smart and Pump Safe, Pump Smart will be available in the NGWA Bookstore at Groundwater Week 2016, December 6-8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The items are an ideal way to train Spanish-speaking crew members to ensure they always practice safe habits when at job sites. Drill Safe, Drill Smart was first produced in English by NGWA in 2010. Pump Safe, Pump Smart was produced two years later. Both have been popular since their debuts as they teach safe habits in an informative, but fun fashion. The DVDs have since been professionally translated so that their important message can reach a Spanish-speaking audience. The drilling DVD covers: falls, materials handling, chemi- cals, machine guarding, electrocution, safe site selection, per- sonal protective equipment, mobilizing for the site, rig setup, blocking and leveling. The pump DVD covers: job preparation, site safety assess- ments, figuring your load, personal protective equipment, site mobilization and setup, blocking and leveling, proper handling of the pump column and wire, pulling the pump, inspection, transportation, moving equipment, tools, lighting, and maintenance. All of these resources are also available in the online NGWA Bookstore at www.NGWA.org. Groundwater Industry Standards and Guidelines Database Provides Wealth of Information NGWA's online "Standards, guidelines, and more" database at http://info.ngwa.org/servicecenter/Standards/ standards.cfm offers an expansive collection of information regarding criteria, practices, and procedures, as well as stan- dards and guidelines, applied within the groundwater industry. This convenient, easy-to-use repository contains items that were obtained from numerous articles, reports, directories, databases, and other sources. More than 85 categories cover everything from contami- nants in groundwater to drilling fluids, grouting and sealing, and water well construction. Included with each entry is the name and contact information of the issuing organization, the reference number of the standard or guideline if applicable, and the name of the same. Questions regarding the database may be directed to NGWA CEO Kevin McCray, CAE, at kmccray@ngwa.org or NGWA Industry Practices Administrator Jessica Michell at jmichell@ngwa.org.
