26 • AUGUST 2012 • WORLD FENCE NEWS EAST EARL, Penn. — Planet Saver Industries, LLC is marketing its Green PostTM system for eliminating rot and decay and extending the life of wood posts as well as making them more environmentally friendly. The system includes specially-for- mulated water-based bituminous coat- ing (Swift Bond), a thermoplastic barrier material (Postguard Wrap) that Green Post system helps fight in-ground fence and deck post decay is wrapped around the coated footing of the post, and the Pony-Winder, a jobsite application machine with which you apply and cure the wrap. The system provides total encase- ment of the portion of the post that is in-ground for fence and deck applica- tions. "Fence contractors will be able to add value to the in-ground treated or untreated fence posts that they install by extending the life of the posts so that they don't need to be replaced in the customer's lifetime," said Matthew Livingston, Planet Saver Industries sales coordinator. "This is also an en- vironmentally-friendly approach be- cause it can prevent the chemical pressure treatment on the wooden posts from leaching out into and con- taminating the soil." Here are the basic steps in the Green Post system: • Apply the water-based bitumi- nous coating (Swift Bond) to the post with special rollers. • Staple the thermoplastic barrier material (Postguard Wrap) to the post FASTENER CAPS for the fence industry ALL TYPES Snap-Caps, Tap Caps, Kappets, Hex-Caps, Hinge Caps All colors and sizes available in small or large quantities Easy to order through PRO-DEC.COM Check us out!
