More powerful than POE and IPV6 technologies, this IP PoE en- abled video intercom processes video, audio and access con- trol from a single sta- tion, the company said. In addition, the entry station boasts an LCD display that lists the tenants/em- ployees that a visitor can call to gain ac- cess. "Whenever a person initiates a call, the receiving monitor will display a live video feed of this individual," said Tim McCarthy, senior product manager for Paxton Access. "If the tenant chooses to let this person in, the tenant can unlock this door by simply tapping a touch screen icon on the monitor – making the process simpler and more secure than ever before, plus it gets recorded to the access control history log."
