Power of pink
Glenn Gilbert of Morrow, Ohio, owns "Pant her Pink," a
1996 Kenworth W900L with such a unique color that he
received a call from the factory to make sure the order
wasn't a mistake. The truck is powered by a 550-hp Cat
3406E and an 18-speed Eaton Fuller. The wheelbase was
stretched from 270 inches to 315 inches to mount a Tripac
APU behind the sleeper on top of the frame, keeping it
away from road grime.
Carolina pride
Vincent Watkins of Kittrell, N.C., owns Watkins Transport
and runs this 2007 Peterbilt 379 to haul general building
products, including shingles, lumber and precast concrete.
The extended-hood truck is powered by a 565-hp Cummins
ISX with a custom ECM program and a 10-speed with
3:36 rears. Watkins installed eight-inch Dynaflex exhaust
stacks, Talladega fiberglass front fenders and a sun visor.
He plans to stretch the wheelbase to 310 inches and add
Talladega rear fenders.
