bevretailersconference.com JUNE 12-14, 2017 RADISSON BLU • DOWNTOWN MINNEAPOLIS JOIN US AT BARC I'M PROUD TO ANNOUNCE the inaugural Beverage Alcohol Retailers Conference, an educational event designed specifi cally for independent, off-premise retailers. I hope you'll join us in Minneapolis at the only event devoted to helping beverage alcohol retailers improve their businesses. As you know, Beverage Dynamics has an 80-year history of providing industry news, analysis and information. Our new conference in Minneapolis will be an in-person version of what you experience reading the magazine. Many of our contributors, editors and most avid readers will be in attendance, providing valuable educational sessions and presentations. I know how diffi cult it is for retailers to leave their stores, so the primary focus for BARC is education. Our industry partners who will help provide guidance on the topics presented include the Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association, Minneso- ta Licensed Beverage Association, Wine & Spirits Education Trust, American Wine School and National Alcohol Beverage Control Association. Highlights from the agenda include: Tuesday: Q&A with Stephen Bebis, CEO and president of Liquor Stores NA, a publicly-traded beverage alcohol retailer with more than 200 stores across North America. He will discuss his decades-long history in retail, as well as his thoughts on the future of the beverage alcohol industry. Wednesday: Fourth-generation small business owner Tom Shay, principal at Profi ts Plus, will share retailing best practices across sales, marketing, merchandising and staff training. He's authored 12 books about small business management and is a nationally-recognized retail expert. Spirit Tastings: Two tasting sessions led by Beverage Dynamics contributor and international spirits judge Jack Robertiello. WSET Certifi cation: For a separate registration and fee, attendees can attend a fi ve-week, online course through the American Wine School. During BARC, they'll sit for a two-hour prep session and exam. If they pass, they'll receive a Level-2 Wine and Spirits certifi cation from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust. I hope you'll join us on June 12-14 at the Radisson Blu Minneapolis Downtown. Taking the time to meet retailers from other markets, share business ideas and learn about new technologies and trends will improve your sales and help you provide a better experience to your customers. That's what BARC is all about. Jeremy Nedelka Editor SPONSOR: PARTNERS:
