It pays homage to Lady Juana, the Spanish-born spouse of Sir Harry Smith, one-time governor general of the Cape Province. La- dismith Cape Brandy has nutty aromas, notes of jasmine, nuts and vanilla on the palate, the com- pany says, followed by a lingering aftertaste and fragrant cinnamon and sun-dried apple. SRP: $39.99 per 750-ml. bottle URL: www.blackhawkimports.com 19 CRIMES THE BANISHED DARK RED, THE WARDEN Australian winery 19 Crimes has added two new wines to its lineup: The Banished Dark Red (SRP: $11.99 per 750-ml. bottle) and The Warden (SRP: $24.99 per 750-ml. bottle). Both are odes to the story of British criminals who turned colonists and forged a new life in Australia, the company says. The Banished is a Shiraz blend with notes of dark chocolate and vanilla aromatics, the company says, with dark forest fruits and notes of cloves and cinnamon spice. The Warden is a Shiraz blend withnotes of dark cherry, blackberry, boysenberry, chocolate, mocha and vanilla bean. URL: www.19crimes.com SMIRNOFF SPIKED SPARKLING SELTZER Smirnoff has launched a spiked sparking seltzer line. Three initial fl avors are orange mango, cranberry lime and watermelon. Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzer is 90 calories and 4.5% ABV. No artifi cial sweet- eners are used, and the product is infused with natural sweeteners and crafted to remove gluten, the company says. Seltzers come in 12-oz. slim- line cans, 6-packs or 12-pack mixes. The cans feature a large "must be 21+ to purchase" callout to indicate that these are for LDA consumers only. URL: www.smirnoff.com WOODFORD RESERVE MASTER'S COLLECTION BRANDY CASK FINISH Woodford Reserve has an- nounced the latest expression in the limited edition Master's Collection: Brandy Cask Finish. Marking the 11th release in the Master's Collection, Master Distiller Chris Morris began with fully mature Woodford Reserve Bourbon, which was then fi nished in Brandy casks for nearly two years. Upon completion of the maturation period, the fi nished casks were batched together to create this whiskey with caramel and dried fruit notes, the company reports. This release is technically not a Bourbon, but a fi nished whiskey, and is 90.4 proof. Ma- tured in a combination of American oak, sherry casks and double charred bourbon barrels, Jameson Black Barrel is a blend of 'small batch' grain and traditional Irish pot still whiskeys. The double charring delivers an "embellished fi nish," the company says. The brand has a new look for its bottle, but the same taste. 40% ABV. SRP: $36.99 per 750-ml. bottle URL: www.jamesonwhiskey.com SWEETWATER SQUEEZE BOX IPA WITH GRAPEFRUIT A new winter seasonal from SweetWater Brew- ing Co. hit shelves this year: Squeeze Box IPA with grapefruit. This beer has fi ve tropical hop additions and dosed with a "shot of winter's favorite citrus, grapefruit," the company re- ports. Squeeze Box IPA with grapefruit is 6.1% ABV with 45 IBUs. Beer drinkers who enjoyed summer's Goin' Coastal IPA with pineapple will enjoy Squeeze Box's similarities in style and drinkability, the company says. SRP: $6 per 6-pack URL: www.sweetwaterbrew.com NEWPORT STORM ANNUAL RELEASE '16 This year's Newpor t Storm Annual Release, which the Rhode Island brewery has made since 2000, finds its place as the sweetest of them all, the company says. Brewmaster Derek Luke wanted to make an "adult cold cocoa." Chocolate comes back again in '16, and is joined this time with vanilla and milk sugar which give this beer a marshmallow-like taste. NewportStorm.com THE LOST DISTILLERY COMPANY CLASSIC SELECTION The Lost Distillery Company, a boutique Scotch producer, has announced the launch of three new whiskies in the U.S. market. The new blended malt whiskies are: Benachie, Towiemore, and Lossit. The Lost Distillery Compa- ny "brings back forgotten Scotch whiskies back to life with a modern interpreta- tion," the company says. Founders Brian Woods and Scott Watson worked together with their archiving team which includes Scotch whisky historian Professor Michael Moss at the Univer- sity of Glasgow, to revive historic whiskies that "showcase the diverse regions of Scotland." SRP: $43 each, per 750-ml. bottle URL: www.lost-distillery.com ANGEL'S ENVY CASK STRENGTH 2016 Louisville Distilling Company has announced a limited-edition release of the Angel's Envy Cask Strength Finished in Port Wine Barrels. Angel's Envy whiskey is aged up to seven years. A few of those barrels are selected for their quality, blended and then receive a lengthier fi nishing process in Portu- guese port wine casks.
