"Our p.r. and marketing campaign aims to educate people in a clear and concise way about how and why drinking matcha can give you the energy lift of other caffeinated drinks, without the associated anxiety or 'fuzziness'," said Legg. PureChimp's new range includes three matchas: ceremonial grade matcha, mint matcha, and lemon matcha, each available in re-sealable 20g stand up pouches. The company gives 5% of profits to charity and helps to look after the world by using recyclable glass jars, recyclable plastic pouches and recyclable paper when packaging your products. www.purechimp.com US Teavana Bottled Teas Eight months after it announced its partnership with Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABI) in which the beer giant would manufacture and distribute the teas, Starbucks has launched a range of Teavana bottled teas. Teavana Craft Iced Teas is available in grocery stores and convenience retailers in New Hamp- shire, New York, Vermont, and Missouri and will be available in similar outlets nationally in 2018. The range includes pineapple berry blue herbal tea, peach green tea, passion tango herbal tea, and mango black tea. All teas are brewed using all natural flavors, are sweetened with 21-22 grams of sugar per bottle and contain 100 calories or less. The launch comes at a time when the demand for RTD (ready-to-drink) teas is growing. According to IRI (Chicago-based market research company), sales of RTD tea reached almost $3.6 million for the year to November 2016, an increase of 4.8% on the previous year. Speaking of the partnership between the two companies, Starbucks c.e.o. Howard Shultz said that Starbucks "contributes Teavana's tea expertise, industry-leading retail activation, and consumer engagement capabilities," and ABI "leads production, bottling, and distribution to retailers nationwide. We are excited to work with [ABI] to unlock the premium ready-to-drink market and further grow demand for the Teavana brand." Steampunk Extraction Lab In February Alpha Dominche, designer of the Steampunk brewing machine, unveiled an ambitious retail project at Brooklyn's waterfront Industry City complex. The Alpha Dominche extraction lab is a 2,000-square-foot café and teashop that focuses equally on craft-brewed coffee and tea regions, cultivars, brands, roasters, processing methods, and more. The lab will rotate its selection of 10-15 coffee roasters regularly, and up to 50 tea brands will be on offer. "Three values drive our business: exceptional brew quality, beautiful esthetics, and unparalleled experi- ence," said Thomas Perez, c.e.o. of Alpha Dominche. "The extraction lab is a prominent display of these values." The lab features teas from Samovar in San Francisco, The 1872 Clipper Tea in Singapore, Good & Proper Tea in London, TQY in Shanghai, and a wide selection of American-based tea companies. Prices range from $3 per cup for house blends to some exceptional teas for $18 per cup. Learn more: www.extractionlab.com PureChimp teas Teavana bottled teas
