8 • JUNE 2017 • WORLD FENCE NEWS Recently, ASSA ABLOY ac- quired the leading producer of decora- tive aluminum fence and gates in the U.S., Jerith Manufacturing. ASSA ABLOY made its debut in the fence industry several years ago with the acquisition of Ameristar Fence Products. With that acquisition, ASSA ABLOY established its Perim- eter Security Group and placed Amer- istar's Barry Willingham as president of the group. "ASSA ABLOY sees the acquisi- tion of Jerith Manufacturing as rein- forcing its market leadership in North America, and feels it is a good step in providing a complete range of prod- ucts for total perimeter solutions," said Willingham. "The addition of Jerith to the Perimeter Security Group brings an offering of best-in-class alu- minum fence products with a premiere brand. Jerith's experience and brand recognition allow ASSA ABLOY's Perimeter Se- curity Group to excel in coastal regions as well as areas of the country where aluminum fence is prevalent. "ASSA ABLOY has had their eye on Jerith, thinking it to be an at- tractive acquisition for several years," he said. "We always saw the synergies between the two companies regarding premium brands and quality products, and now by bringing the companies together under what ASSA ABLOY calls the Perimeter Se- curity Group, we can leverage these synergies as sister companies to the benefit of our mutual customers. "Our intention is to continue building a platform of the highest quality materials in the fence and perimeter security industry, bringing our customers more value in providing the finest quality ornamen- tal steel and aluminum fence material available," said Willingham. "Couple that with an intense focus on deliver- ing the best customer experience, and it makes this transaction an exciting new chapter for our company," he said. Andy Murray, general manager of Jerith Manufacturing, stated, "We are thrilled to be part of ASSA ABLOY, and contribute to the growth of the Pe- rimeter Security Group. The future is bright with the knowledge and leader- ship that we can obtain from our sister companies. "Ameristar's strength in the steel fence market and our legacy in the or- namental aluminum arena cast both of us as leaders in the fence industry. Now we can accelerate our growth with new product development and improved customer experience under the leadership of ASSA ABLOY's Pe- rimeter Security Group," Murray said. "For over 50 years, Jerith has manufactured the highest quality decorative aluminum fence products in the industry. Jerith's broad range of aluminum fence systems allow for maximum flexibility in finding a product that best fits the application. Jerith's true distinction comes from their reputation for superior service and positive customer experience," he added.
