PRODUCTS & PACKAGING Terlato Wines and golf legend Jack Nicklaus and his family are introducing the first white wine in the Jack Nicklaus Wines portfolio, the 2011 Nicklaus Private Reserve White Napa Valley. Made from a base of Sauvignon Blanc, the handcrafted white from California's Napa Valley will initially be distributed in selected markets and nationally in 2013. Nicklaus said the white was a natural out- growth of the successful introduction in 2010 of the Nicklaus reds, a Cabernet Sauvignon and Private Reserve Bordeaux-style blend, both also from Napa. Beginning this month, Pernod Ricard USA is debuting Plymouth Navy Strength Gin in the U.S. The line extension features an amplified aroma and fragrance of botanicals while retaining the brand's signature smoothness and balanced character, the company says. The brands says it has sold more than 1 million bottles in the first six months of 2012. RumChata is avail- able nationwide at an average retail price of $19.95 for a 750 ml. The pre-mixed Mimosa is a combina- tion of orange juice and sparkling brut (made from chenin blanc) that provides the freshness of a Mimosa. The brand has seen regional distribution, particularly in several large retail chains (Cost Plus World Market, Meijer stores, The Fresh Market). The 8% abv drink has a suggested retail price of $10.99, and now the brand is 42 introducing a line extension to the traditional orange Mimosa to include pomegranate, mango and pineapple. In addition to the line extension, the original orange Mimosa is now also available 187 ml cans, to be sold in a 4-pack or as singles. Smirnoff and Parrot Bay have introduced two new lines of frozen malt bever- ages, available in a variety of flavors: Parrot Bay PiƱa Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri, Mango Daiquiri and Smirnoff Strawberry Lemonade, Cherry Limeade, Blue Raspberry Lemonade Daiquiri. Both are 5% abv malt beverages with "natural flavors and certi- fied colors." The line of Seagram's Twisted Gin has added a new fla- vor to its portfolio: Seagram's Peach Twisted Gin.
