"The text is always kind off the cuff, usually relating to a single subject—something I'm thinking
about and using as a kind of platform to spring off of for the mark-making and the color. In
this case, I've been thinking about intercepted communications, radio waves, etc. The text is
important when it's legible, but also when it's not—just to know it's there. Things are covered
for a reason; it's done so intentionally."
