The Old Feed Mill By Mollie Busby
Sit back, relax, and enjoy a dining experi- ence as it was in the 1850s at Th e Old Feed Mill. Situated 25 minutes west in Mazo- manie, this unique Americana eatery is worth a trip. Bought by Dan and Nancy Viste in 1992,
the building underwent a laborious three- year restoration to return to its historical glory, and then some. While the dining hall may take you back to another era, the comfort-style cuisine by Chef Andrew Pierce is all at once classic and up to speed with fl avors of today. Dishes such as the tender cider roast
chicken with wild rice pilaf and vegetables plucked daily from the Vistes' garden, along with freshly baked bread—made from fl our ground in-house—entice the palate and calm the soul. In the words of a customer, Dan quotes, "If you can't relax here, you're wound up way too tight."
The Old Feed Mill is located at 114 Cramer St., Mazomanie; (608) 795-4909 or oldfeedmill.com.
