Fleet News 48 | Overdrive | February 2018 Little Rock, Arkansas-based MAVERICK TRANSPORTATION announced a 5-cent- per-mile pay increase for all drivers in both its flatbed and glass over- the-road divisions, including student drivers. Base pay for OTR flatbed drivers is now 51 to 56 cents per mile, regional OTR flatbed drivers earn 49 to 54 cents, and glass division drivers receive 55 to 60 cents. By Dean SmallwooD MAVERICK RAISES PAY FOR FLATBED, GLASS HAULERS Charleston, South Carolina- based flatbed company BULLDOG HIWAY EXPRESS launched its Salary Plus driver compensation program that includes a guaranteed minimum weekly salary of $1,000. The program also includes a minimum of 50 cents per loaded mile, week- end bonus bay, a $1,000 sign- on bonus and a $3,000 refer- ral bonus. Marshfield, Wisconsin-based ROEHL TRANSPORT announced a mileage rate increase rang- ing from 6 to 10 percent for drivers operating under the company's Your Choice Pay Plan. The most experienced drivers earned a 5-cents-per- mile increase, while inexpe- rienced drivers received a 2-cent increase. Chattanooga, Tennessee- based COVENANT TRANSPORT launched a $40,000 Teaming Bonus program that pays a $2,000 bonus every time a team eclipses 60,000 paid miles together. Team drivers for the expedited freight haul- er receive $1,000 each, up to a total combined $40,000 – $20,000 for each driver. Somerset, Kentucky-based SUPER SERVICE announced that its Performance Plus Pay program now enables drivers to increase their pay by as much as 6 cents per mile. With P3, drivers for the regional and dedicated full truckload carrier determine how much more they are paid above base rate based on hazmat endorsement, safety, fuel efficiency and service.
