Networking News Lea Culliton, president of the Black Earth operations of HABA USA, a division of the German-based toy company, was awarded the "Full Circle Award" at the Marketing to Moms Conference. The award is given to those who apply mom-geared sales and marketing knowledge from the conference to improve their business. Patty Cakes, a children's clothing and goods boutique, has expanded its space in Hilldale Shopping Center to include a rentable photography studio. The Monroe Street Arts Center has named Holly Baris as its new executive director. With an eye toward encouraging young people's life-long love of the arts, Baris joins the 15-year-old nonprofit, which offers music and art instruction to children. Local women and businesses on the move With the goal of creating an innovative business model, Madison Ballet and Madison Youth Choirs have consolidated office and rehearsal space. In addition to reducing costs, the move will allow both organizations to offer additional joint programming opportunities. A 2013 edition of Wisconsin Local Foods Journal has been released by Ginkgo Press. Written by Terese Allen and Joan Peterson, the journal details seasonal shopping guides, an eat-local Wisconsin travel guide and advice from chefs who champion local foods. The League of American Bicyclists named Fitchburg a "Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community." The award recognizes Fitchburg's commitment to improving conditions for bicycling through invest- ment in bicycling promotion, education programs, infrastructure and pro-bicycling policies. 350,800 The amount of grant dollars the American Girl's Fund awarded to 19 Dane county organizations. The grants support cultural arts and environmental children's programming. The funding was made possible through the Madison Children's Museum's annual sale of second and returned American Girl products.
