Chef's Corner Chocolaterian Café By Kelsey Bewick It's safe to say that if becoming a chocolate- rian was the latest diet craze, we'd convert. Luckily, Chocolaterian Café, Atwood Av- enue's latest foodie installation, offers the perfect place to indulge in our sweet side. "Everybody has a little bit of chocolat- erian in them," says Chef and Co-owner Leanne Cordisco. Formally an engineer, precision is something Cordisco is accus- tomed to and was a perfect segue into the art of making candy. So when Cordisco's business, Christine's Toffee, outgrew its kitchen and the historic east side space opened, Cordisco says it begged for a café. The result is a treat-lover's paradise, with cozy booths and an array of maca- roons, tortes and cookies. To wash it down, the café serves espresso, wine, Parisian hot chocolate and more. And with to-go candy options galore, the cafe promises to make chocolaterians out of all of us. Chocolaterian Café is located at 2004 Atwood Ave., Madison; (608) 249-1156 or chocolateriancafe.com Dining easy choice local is an LIVE LOCAL • DINE LOCAL December 2012 bravamagazine.com 71 Photo by Shana Wolf
