Fleet News 56 | Overdrive | June 2018 By Dean SmallwooD SCHNEIDER OFFERS PROGRAMS FEATURING LOAD CHOICES Kansas City, Missouri-based CRESTWOOD TRANSPORTATION increased pay for company tanker drivers in its central region. Drivers now start at up to $80,000-$85,000 per year, and drivers with 10 or more years of experience start at up to $95,000. Crestwood's central region includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, eastern Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Little Rock, Arkansas-based MAVERICK TRANSPORTATION increased pay for its over-the- road Temperature Control Division drivers by 5 cents per mile, bringing starting pay to 51 to 55 cents and student starting pay to 45 cents. Memphis, Tennessee-based OZARK MOTOR LINES increased pay for its experienced over- the-road and regional drivers by 2 cents per mile, while its driving teams received a 1-cent raise. The company also rolled out its first Driver Per Diem program in response to tax law changes that went into effect earlier this year. Plymouth, Michigan- based WHITELINE EXPRESS announced a pay increase that allows new and existing region- al drivers to earn as much as 50 cents per mile. The company also is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for experienced regional drivers. Green Bay, Wisconsin-based SCHNEIDER's Percentage Lease Program allows owner-operators with 2000 and newer model-year trucks to select van truckload loads across the eastern 37 states. Owner-operators with 2010 or newer models can take advantage of Schneider's Choice Program that gives them full control over picking van truckload or tanker loads across the United States and Canada. Schneider now is spec'ing select new trucks with storage cabinets, Sirius-XM radio, an 8-inch mattress and an APU.
