Recently, capable real-time location, context and preference technologies have emerged. As global innovators leverage these technologies, they will enable a combination of humans and machines to rapidly deliver prescriptive decisions to modify behavior. Even with a recent move toward interdependent human and machine decision making, its interesting to remember that the valuable decisions still surround the same three categories of human needs that have been present for thousands of years: 1. Risk Identification, Mitigation or Elimination catastrophic fire risk based on real-time weather, upcoming public events and the predicted patterns of causal factors. based on real-time weather, currents, emission rules, fuel optimization and continuously updated piracy information. on a patrol and automated efforts to shorten the cycle time from risk identification to elimination. An example shows GeoVigilance actively scanning Twitter feeds for key words (and integrating traffic monitor feeds) for enhanced event security. Social Tuning fying social and emotional needs of individuals and groups. coupled with context information to optimize the realtime movement and schedule of social events and human interactions. Industry and government customers now are asking for real-time prescriptive decisions instead of simply buying software and piles of yesterdays data. These customers understand that mission and business value isnt derived from the analysis of historical data collected with little rhyme or reason. Instead, theyre demanding a set of predictive and prescriptive capabilities. Organizations that can harness the exponential growth in location, context and preference data to influence human and system behavior will help customers move beyond their business or national-security adversaries. In other words, its future behavior, Stupid. Statement of Ownership, Management and Circulation 1. Publication Title: GeoWorld 2. Publication No.: 234-16 3. Filing Date: September 29, 2012 4.
