28 • JULY 2018 • WORLD FENCE NEWS Reno A&E veteran Tom Sutula had lifelong career in traffic control electronics and vehicle detection industry Reno A&E announced that Tom Sutula, 68, a beloved and dedicated 20-year employee of the company, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Reno, Nevada after a lengthy med- ical challenge, with family and close friends at his bedside. Mr. Sutula spent his more than 45-year career in the traffic control electronics and vehicle detection in- dustry, working for such prominent market-leading firms as Microsense, Peek Traffic (Sarasota), and Detector Systems. He completed his career as product support manager with Reno A&E. Dr. Bill Sowell, former president and general manager of Peek Traf- fic, said, "While Tom was working at Peek Traffic, he was our 'detector and counter-classifier guru.' Whenever a customer had a difficult field issue, Tom would diligently investigate and solve the customer's problem right away. Tom was also known as 'The Overtime King,' as he would always arrive to work early and was among the last to leave the building in the evening. "Tom was a very dedicated em- ployee of Reno A&E, and he was always focused on helping our cus- tomers resolve detector application challenges.
