The depot will be stocked with a variety of galvanized fence tube and pipe sizes to allow Marcegaglia USA to better serve their growing customer base in the Midwest, the company stated, adding that by partnering Phillips Metals Inc. (PMI) to operate the Plainfield facility, both companies expect an increase in regional demand for their galvanized pipe and tube products. Marcegaglia USA operates a sophisticated tube manufacturing facility in Munhall, Penn. where 16 tube producing lines make a variety of galvanized and stainless steel tubing and pipe products. The company makes non-ferrous tube and pipe in sizes from .250" to 12.75" OD rounds as well as a wide variety of stainless shapes (squares and recs). Marcegaglia recently upgraded tube production for galvanized products, resulting in new capabilities and expanded sizes. This galvanized upgrade provides Marcegaglia USA access to several new markets for galvanized tube and pipe products including fencing, conveyors, agricultural, marine, material handling, and industrial applications. Marcegaglia USA produces galvanized tubing from .472" OD to 2-1/2" OD and can manufacture a variety of square and rectangular sizes as well.
