S peakers from across the country will be in Yakima, Washington, on February 21 for the Washington Farm Labor Association���s annual labor conference. They include William Tamayo, regional attorney for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for northern California and the Pacific Northwest, who will speak on sexual harassment in the workplace, with a focus on seasonal employers. Bishop Joe Tyson, archbishop of the Yakima Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church, will discuss the moral aspects of immigration reform. A dozen workshops will be provided by regulators, attorneys, accountants and other specialists in labor and employment matters during the day-long conference, which will be held at the Yakima Convention Center beginning at 8:30 a.m. The conference will be preceded by a new Workforce Summit on the afternoon of February 20 at the Yakima Holiday Inn. It will focus on immigration reform, the H-2A program, and strategies seasonal employers can use to attract a legal and stable workforce.
