Walker announces
contest winners
Yanmar, Woods form
strategic partnership
Walker Manufacturing Company recently
surprised the two winners of its Walker Mowers
B Difference Drive & Win Contest with President
Bob Walker and other company representatives
personally delivering a Walker B riding mower to
each winner.
Morgan Dolly of Fort Plain, N.Y., and Roberta
Jacobson of Gordon, Neb., were selected as the
winners of the worldwide contest, which featured
2,505 entrants receiving demonstrations of Walker
B Models from 49 states, four Canadian provinces,
Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Spain and South
Africa.
Dolly, who received a Walker B Mower
demonstration in September from Keith Barry,
a representative for Walker's northeastern
distributor Precision Work of Port Washington,
N.Y., was awarded a Walker MBK mower. Jacobson,
who received a Walker Mower demonstration from
local dealer Hansen Walker Mowers, was handed
the keys to a Walker MBS mower.

Yanmar America Corporation, a supplier of compact utility tractors,
construction equipment, marine and industrial diesel engines and energy
systems, and Woods Equipment Company, a designer and manufacturer of
tractor attachments and implements, announced the formation of a strategic
partnership on Jan. 28.
Under the terms of the agreement, Yanmar will market and distribute Woods
attachments through its nationwide dealer network. The product offering covers a
line of agriculture and landscape equipment compatible with Yanmar tractor sizes,
ranging from 24 to 49 horsepower. The attachment line includes cutters, finish
mowers and snow blowers, as well as assorted scrapers, discs, rakes, post-hole
diggers, stump grinders and blades. All equipment will be branded "Yanmar."
"This was a natural fit for two premium-quality product brands," said Ted
Bregar, president of Yanmar America Corporation. "We're able to add value to our
dealers' business, and our customers will benefit from a single Yanmar-branded
product solution and better retail financing options for both the tractor and the
attachments."
Jerry Johnson, president of Woods Products Division, added, "Woods is pleased
to be aligned with Yanmar as their attachment supplier partner. Blending OEM
and dealer-direct business allows us to optimize our cost structure in building the
highest-quality equipment in the market."
The line of attachments was introduced to Yanmar dealers at their National
Tractor Dealer Meeting in December. Dealers began placing orders Jan. 1 with the
first shipments to Yanmar dealers expected in early March.
