24 • JUNE 2013 • WORLD FENCE NEWS Fence End Spacer provides professional method to secure gap between fence and structure The new patent pending Fence End Spacer is designed to close the gap between a fence and structure when the end post cannot be installed close enough to the building to be secure for children and pets, and to prevent unwanted animals from coming into the yard. The spacer is manufactured in the U.S. from 1/2" mild steel welded square tubing. The spacer may be color coated to match any fence. "Our Fence End Spacer provides for a professional finish that would compliment any structure," said inventor and manufacturer Robert Barter. "They can also be installed in a number of different situations where a gap opening needs to be filled. "Our spacers are available for use with standard galvanized and color coated chain link residential and commercial fencing," he said. The spacer can be easily removed for siding or other structure renovations or simply loosened and swung to one side for repair access. "If home repairs were to be done and the end posts were installed tight against the structure, the fence post would be required to be taken up. Not only would this add additional costs for the repairs but would render the fence unsecured," said Barter. The Fence End Spacer, shown in place above right, provides a somewhat more attractive way to fill the gap between the fence and the structure wall than the method at left. Sort of a before and after.
