The spacer is manufactured in the U.S. from 1/2" mild steel welded square tubing. The spacer may be color coated to match any fence. For larger gap openings we offer custom built services." The spacers attach to the post with the use of two 5/16" x 21/2" U-bolts. The spacers are designed for left hand and right hand installation. The spacer can be easily removed for siding or other structure renovations or simply loosened and swung to one side for repair access. "If home repairs were to be done and the end posts were installed tight against the structure, the fence post would be required to be taken up. Not only would this add additional costs for the repairs but would render the fence unsecured," said Barter.
