57 WORLD FENCE NEWS • JUNE 2013 • Larsen Innovations announces new features in Accura cantilever gate rollers to simplify compliance with ASTM F2200 HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Larsen Innovations LLC has announced that all of their Accura™ precision nylon roller sets now include specially designed stops and brackets to accommodate the protective panel required by ASTM F2200, Standard Specification for Automated Vehicular Gate Construction. "ASTM F2200 requires that the gap between the gate and the gate post or stationary object nearest the roadway on an automated gate cannot exceed 2¼"," said company president Charlie Larsen. "This typically requires the installation of some kind of plate or panel to close that gap. While the standard is clear about the outcome, the method is left to the installer. "In improving the design of our gate stops we now incorporate a hole to provide an attachment point for a protective panel and a second custom bracket to attach to the bottom roller, making installing the required panel very easy," he said. "This is consistent with our approach of including pre-installed covers on every roller that are also required under this same ASTM standard. The bottom line is, if we help make complying with these standards easier, it helps our contractor customers comply, which may help reduce their liability, but most important helps to prevent avoidable accidents. "This same bracket can also be used with our hardware for internal tuck style gates to accomplish this requirement," Larsen said.
