Standardizing street segment length prior to conducting a street tree
inventory significantly increases the precision of total population estimates, reduces the segments that must be sampled to achieve a desired
precision, and increases the level of precision that can be achieved at a
given sampling intensity. Recommendations will be suggested for the best
length to standardize street segments, opportunities for future work will
be identified, and the implications of the findings will be discussed.
