Another photo on the cover showed workers from Tymetal Corp. drilling holes in frozen Saratoga Lake to set anchors for a large aluminum boat dock. • World Fence News contributing editor Herb Borner discussed some useful tools of the fence estimator's trade. • Jim Hart encountered a fence line overgrown in vines so tough that Tarzan would have been proud to swing on them. Jim decided that maybe a flamethrower would be in order. • There are many types of cus- tomers, and a guest columnist told how to win them over to your com- pany. • Contributing editor Jim Lucci told how to get the most out of your Yellow Pages ad and showed some successful approaches other fence companies use. The fence surrounds the historic "Seventh Sister" bed and breakfast inn in Cape May, N.J. • An in-depth explanation of a new law on underground facilities that was set to go into effect in Florida was pre- sented. The law set out rights and re- sponsibilities for excavators. • Several fence companies had come under examination recently by the state employment commission re- garding their classification of contract labor and independent contractors. A report detailed the policies and requirements of the agency. • In recent years there had been an "explosion" of privacy slatting onto the market. Contributing editor Herb Borner took an in-depth look at how you can get creative with this product. • As another fence season un- folded and fencers were looking for- ward to a productive and profitable one, it was advised that everyone take a mental trip around their facility to see if they have combined their opti- mism and preparation with an aware- ness of the need for "safety-ing" the premises, from the showroom to the warehouse and yard. • There are a number of factors in the U.S. economy and the economies of other countries that affect the price and supply of lumber.
