x At the upper end of new releas- es is Glenmorangie Pride 1981, a rare, limited-edition single malt Scotch with only 1,000 bottles available worldwide, at $3,600 per bottle. It is presented in a Baccarat crystal decanter and in a rare wooden case. After first maturing 18 years in Glenmorangie’s finest American white oak bar- rels, the whisky was aged an additional 10 years in Sauternes Barriques from the fabled vineyard of Chateau d’Yquem, resulting in a luscious single malt. x Yellow Tail, the top-selling Australian wine imported by W. J. Deutsch & Sons, has added another expression to its portfolio: a slightly sweet frizzante Moscato. And it’s the frizzante that helps distinguish Yellow Tail Moscato from other moscatos in the market, the company says. Made from 100% moscato grapes, it also features tropical fruit flavors with aromas of passion fruit and peach, according to the company, and retails for $6.99 (750 ml) and $11.99 (1.75 liter). This Limited Edition offering represents the collaboration of two British brewers: Newcastle Breweries in England and Caledonian Brewery in Scotland. The four expressions include Newcastle Summer Ale, fea- turing a crisp and refreshing taste; Newcastle Werewolf, for Autumn drinking, with a bite of bitterness in it; Newcastle Winter IPA, a winter ale with a full-bodied taste and malt flavors; and Newcastle Founder’s Ale, a traditional spring brew with an English semi-bitter taste and hoppy aroma. x Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi has introduced Woodbridge Extra Dry Sparkling Wine. Aimed at wine drinkers who enjoy a lightly sweet style of wine, Woodbridge Extra Dry, made from chardonnay grapes, displays ripe Golden Delicious apple, luscious pear, and bright citrus notes with a creamy finish, the company says. The new sparkler retails for $9.99 for a 750 ml bottle.
