INSTRUCTION APPS GOLF FOR Steven Giuliano interviews Noel Rousseau, creator of “Everyday Golf Coach” app. Listen >> Steven Giuliano interviews Jeff Ritter, creator of the “Jeff Ritter Golf” app. Listen >> Every day it seems new technology is being introduced, and there are new apps to choose from to help us with our game. It seems hard to keep up - I know it is for me! From GPS apps, to swing analysis apps, green reading apps to practice apps, apps for keeping stats and score, and apps to help us train. In this series on apps for golf we look at the various instructional apps that can be used to enhance your golfing experience. In this article I review 3 golf instructional apps that can be used as tools for game improvement. Everyday Golf Coach Listen to interview >> Cost $7.99 Rating 7.5/10 taste of the app for free with the Lite version, which offers you 1 video from the 5 categories. If you like what you see you can then upgrade to the full version. Beware you will need some room on your mobile device to store the videos, so, if you’re like me and pack your phone full of data, you may need to delete some photos or videos from your device to make space. Once the videos are downloaded though there’s no need to Wi-Fi and videos are stored forever. This is a real plus if you’re on the range as you can utilize the app anytime and anywhere to steadily master golf technique and improve their game as a result. Everyday Golf Coach is logically divided into the seven different categories of the game. With the full application you’re able to view 32 quality videos from the following categories: The Everyday Golf Coach app offers an in-depth set of golf instructional lessons via video and graphic illustration, and provides a summary of notes at end of each session. Every aspect of the game is thoroughly covered, and the presentation is simple and easy to understand. U.K based PGA professional Noel Rousseau has really done an excellent job of putting this app together. This popular golf training app is available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. On a negative note, the full version of Everyday Golf Coach comes at a cost of $7.99. When competing with some of the other quality golf instructional apps on the market this can be a bit of a road block for many users, and for many this is where their experience could end. That said, you can experience a 12 GOLF INFUZION MAGAZINE JUNE 2011 - Set-up - Swing - Balance & Timing - Ball Flight - Putting - Chipping - On Course Generally the videos are very clear and provide simple and useful information. I would rate the video quality 7/10 by modern high def. standards and audio quality 8/10 as there is some background noise to deal with. Everyday Golf Coach is now available in HD on the Apple iPad. Among the 32 videos, themes range from swing shape and plane, wrist hinge, stability and timing, sloping lie to shots played from the rough, and an array of short game shots.
