Keller & Associates reached an agreement to develop an integrated GPS fleet management system that will provide performance and com- pliance management. J.J. Keller's Encompass compliance system will be added later this year to Verizon Network- fleet's fleet management portfolio. Verizon Network- fleet says the integrated system will allow its clients to manage critical requirements such as hours of service, driver vehicle inspection reports and fuel taxes while offering greater ability to manage and improve Compliance Safety Accountability scores. J.J. Keller's electronic compliance functionality will be embedded in Verizon Networkfleet's hardware, which will transfer data seamlessly to the J.J. Keller Mobile app via Bluetooth technology. "Due to increased regulatory scrutiny aimed at keeping the roads safer – including a potential regulation by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requiring electronic logging of driv- ers' hours of service – we recognized that the time was right to introduce a comprehensive and cost-effective compli- ance solution based on telematics," says Joshua Haims, general manager of Verizon Networkfleet. Verizon Networkfleet clients also will have ac- cess to Verizon's wireless network and be able to integrate their existing devices and tap into mobile device management expertise. "Having been selected for our expertise in safety and compliance is a real honor, and this collaboration brings two well-respected firms together," says Rustin Keller, executive vice president and chief operating officer of J.J. Keller integrate for fleet management Pegasus TransTech acquires TripPak, ACS P egasus TransTech, a provider of electronic revenue cycle management, document management and invoicing systems to the transportation industry, acquired TripPak Services and ACS Advertising from Xerox. Terms were not announced. TripPak is a provider of document capture, submission and workflow management, as well as safety and compli- ance systems, and ACS Advertising is a driver recruitment advertising agency for the transportation market. Pegasus TransTech says the combined compa- ny will provide added opportunities for electronic revenue management systems for the trucking industry. "We are excited about the opportunity to join forces with TripPak and ACS Advertising and offer solutions that range from mobile document management to truckstop scanning and dropboxes," says Frank Adelman, president and chief executive officer of Pegasus TransTech. "We will now be able to pool our resources and accelerate the pace of new product development. Together, we will enable truck fleets and driv- ers to capture revenue more quickly, gain greater visibility into revenue management processes and comply with regula- tory requirements more efficiently." The combined company serves more than 3,000 truck fleets and third-party logistics customers with both trans- actional and software systems for revenue cycle management. Pegasus TransTech partners with U.S. and Canadian truckstop operators to provide docu- ment capture and transmission solutions, and TripPak adds 500 additional truckstop locations and a network of 1,200 dropboxes. Also, mobile scanning apps Transflo Mobile and TripPak Mobile together serve nearly 200,000 drivers. – Aaron Huff J.J.
