www.cheersonline.com 17 JULY/AUGUST 2014 | DRINK CULTURE What I'm DrInkIng noW: Jeff Lyon, co-owner/ operator of ird Rail in San Francisco I'm really in a slow sippin', boozy cocktail phase right now and enjoying a cocktail called 12 Angry Men, made with Rittenhouse rye, Green Chartreuse and Gran Classico. I really like how the herbs and bitter components of the Chartreuse and Gran Classico play so nicely with the tough-guy power of the Rittenhouse rye. It's like you took a painting of a lush forest and put it in a splintery old woody picture frame, then hung it on the wall on a rusty railroad spike. 12 ANGRY MEN 2 oz. Rittenhouse rye ½ oz. Green Chartreuse ½ oz. Gran Classico bitter 3 Dashes Regan's orange bitters Stir, serve in an Old Fashioned glass on one large ice cube. Garnish with a thin orange slice. The Chloe Wine Collection is a new elite portfolio of superpremium wines sourced from some of the world's finest wine-growing regions. The Chloe wine portfolio was developed by veteran winemaker Georgetta Dane and includes a Sonoma County chardonnay, a Valdadige D.O.C. pinot grigio, and a red blend from California's North Coast designated Red No. 249. The Chloe Wine Collection is available for a suggested retail price of $16.99 per bottle. PRODUCTS Santa Rita wines, imported from Chile into the U.S. by Palm Bay International, has released new vintages of three of its luxury wines. Santa Rita Triple C 2008 ($39.99 suggested retail), from the Maipo Valley, is 55% cabernet franc, 30% cabernet sauvignon, 15% carménère. Santa Rita Pehuen 2007 ($69.99), from Colchagua Valley and Maipo Valley, is 95% carménère and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Santa Rita Casa Real 2010 ($84.99), from the Maipo Valley, is 100% cabernet sauvignon. Excelsior Wines has introduced Amado Sur chardonnay from the Trivento estate in Argentina's Mendoza region. The wine combines 78% chardonnay with 12% pinot grigio and 10% viognier. Amado Sur loosely translates to "Southern Love," an allusion to the affinity between the featured grape varieties and the climate and growing conditions in the Andes Mountains foothills. It retails for a suggested price of $15 per 750-ml. bottle.
