At 531 net hp (396 kW) and equipped with an 8.3 cu. yd. (6.3 cu m) general purpose bucket, the 115Z7 is engineered for demanding applications and environments found in quarry and shot-rock, coil han- dling, hot slag, steel mills and asphalt plants. Its 16-L Tier IVi Isuzu engine and "IntelliTech" system optimize performance. Powerful and Strong e 115Z7 wheel loader is practical for high-volume loadout requirements or heavy- duty shot-rock loading. Its big engine, massive drivetrain and powerful hydraulics mean its 8.3-cu.-yd. rock bucket can load 12.5 tons (11.3 t) in a pass. e full box- section rear chassis is super strong, and the center-pin area is one of the heavi- est in this class. Dual Z Linkage provides greater enhanced force and visibility to the bucket. It also spreads out the load on the torque tube to reduce stress. And when a new 115Z7 arrives on site, it's ready to get down and dirty—it comes standard with full fenders, mud fl aps, and traction control. Effi cient and Smart Features like the power modes, effi cient accelera- tion, IntelliDig, lock-up clutch, auto idle shutdown and load- sensing open-center hydraulics make the 115Z7 outstanding in fuel economy and overall energy effi ciency, according to the manu- facturer. The Joy of Operation e 115Z7 is one of only two wheel loaders in this size class that off er standard joy- stick steering. e hydraulic- over-hydraulic steering handles the machine well at any speed, and the pilot-assisted hydrau- lic controls give the operator fi n- gertip control. e standard rearview camera provides an extra dimension of safety for this big loader and supplements the standard exterior mirrors. e operator can make the 115Z7 fi t his specifi c application through the LCD multi-function moni- tor in the dash—power levels, kickouts, declutch function and more—for maximum production. e standard trac- tion control limits wheel spin, and the standard AutoBrake pro- tects the transmission from over- speeding and improper shi ing. Simplifi ed Maintenance Angled ladders and wide- access engine compartment doors help simplify service. e cooling fan is easy to get to, as is the battery box. Lube points are grouped and fl uid check points and fueling are at ground level. Hydraulic oil change inter- vals are now 4,000 hours when using non-zinc hydraulic fl uid. Engine oil changes are 500 hours with CJ4 oil, and the loader link- age pins use an HN bushing that is oil- impregnated to allow for longer periods between lubrica- tion. ese pins can go as long as 500 hours between greasing in most applications. And standard telematics provide the customer, dealer, and Kawa- saki with current operating sta- tus and alerts to improve support and reduce costs. ● www.constructionequipmentguide.com, June, 2014 Kawasaki 115Z7 Wheel Loader
