AGGREGATES MANAGER December 2014 12 richsen, corporate account services, Caterpillar, Inc. "Rick has diligently executed the vision of AGG1 and has done it through deep knowledge and with a friendly manner amongst producers and M&S members." The show launched in Orlando in 2009, during some of the toughest years in recent history for the aggregates industry. Despite harsh business conditions, the show was, and continues to be, a success. "Each year, we've been able to grow our profits, improve revenues, and increase attendance," Feltes says. "With the staff the association has in place right now, particularly Pa- mala Bouchard — who had a background in trade shows before joining NSSGA, we've got a a solid foundation to see the show continue to grow for many years to come." "Rick is a rare quality to find in the trade association world as he is equally committed to the success of our industry and NSSGA," responds Bouchard, NSSGA's vice president of mem- bership and meetings. "He underscores the importance and the difference an engaged member can make to an association. For example, he was on the board of directors for the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers for many years. He also served as chairman of the Kane County Board of Appeals for more than 10 years and spent a decade as chairman of the Waubonsee Community College Foundation where he raised scholarship funds for local students in need. In 2010, the Manufacturers and Services Division of NSSGA selected Feltes as the winner of the Barry K. Wendt Memorial Commitment Award, noting that "Feltes showed vision and forward thinking, investing in high-level automation for the Elburn-based operation at a time when many small aggregate companies were still trying to grasp the benefits of such technology."
