Freixenet is releasing a new line of
Spanish wines, called Mia, made by
winemaker Gloria Collell. The easy-to-drink
wines, featuring noticeable fruit, are
balanced with good acidity, according
to the company. The line includes Mia
White, Mia Rosé, Mia Red, Mia Moscato,
Mia Pink Moscato. The wines are low in
alcohol (7% for the moscatos) and are
$9.99 to $10.99 suggested retail for a
750-ml. bottle.
Heaven Hill has released a new seasonal
liqueur for the 2014 holidays–Hpnotiq
Sparkle. Infused with Champagne-like
bubbles, the new effervescent liqueur is
bottled at 12.5% ABV, slightly less than
the 17% original Hpnotiq liqueur. Like its
namesake, Sparkle has a suggested retail
price of $19.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.
Patron Spirits has introduced a new chile
chocolate liqueur in the company's Patron
XO Café line, called Incendio. The new liqueur
combines the flavor of Mexican arbol chile
with Criollo chocolate. The 60-proof Incendio
is produced in Jalisco, Mexico, at the
Hacienda Patron distillery.
Brown-Forman has introduced a new bour-
bon celebrating founder George Garvin Brown's
birthday. The 13th limited edition release, Old
Forester Birthday Bourbon was created by
Master Distiller Chris Morris from a single day
of production and is vintage-dated. Bottled at
97 proof, the bourbon will be available for a
suggested retail price of $59.99.
Van Gogh Imports has
introduced TAP Rye Sherry
Finished. The new TAP
extension is an 8-year-old
Canadian rye whisky blend-
ed with Spanish Amontillado
Sherry. With the launch, the
brand has also introduced
a Barrel-Aged cocktail
program for on-premise
accounts featuring branded
oak barrels. TAP Rye Sherry
Finished is available for a
suggested retail price of
$39.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.
Luxco has introduced
new packaging for Lord
Calvert Canadian Whisky.
The whisky is celebrating
its 50th anniversary with
a return to its original
embossed bottle and a
new product label. The
new square bottle will be
available in 1.75 and 1-liter
sizes. Luxco purchased the
brand from Beam in 2012.
William Grant & Sons has
launched Ancho Reyes, an
ancho chile liqueur inspired
by a 1920s recipe. Created
using Mexico's poblano
chile (which becomes an
ancho chile when dried in
open air), the liqueur is 80
proof and available for a
suggested retail price of
$32.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.
