Semi-
retired
John Sabo of Bernville,
Pa., uses this now-retired
1990 Peterbilt 362 as a
"toy hauler" to haul his
antique tractors. The
truck is powered by a
Caterpillar 3406 and a
Fuller 9-speed transmis-
sion. Sabo added a 13-inch
drop visor, an 18-inch
front bumper, 6-inch
exhaust stacks, a stainless
rear light panel and stain-
less mudflap brackets. "I
love cabovers and decided
to fix her up to save her,"
he says.
Moose rack
Brooke Taylor of Musquodoboit Valley,
Nova Scotia, owns and operates this 1996
Kenworth W900B and hauls containers from
the Halifax port. The truck is powered by
a 550-hp Caterpillar 3406 and an 18-speed
transmission and has nearly 2 million miles.
Taylor added the moose rack six years ago.
"It takes a lot of elbow grease," he says.
Total rebuild
Produce hauler Russell Riano says he has
totally rebuilt this 1981 Peterbilt 359 since he
bought it in 2005. Riano replaced the factory
sleeper with a 63-inch flat-top, stretched the
rig to 292 inches and replaced the old engine
with a 2000 550-hp Caterpillar.
