All told, three FedEx terminals have voted to join the union, while three others, including Louis- ville, have voted against joining. FedEx Freight said the Teamsters withdrew petitions on the eve of elec- tions at FedEx hubs in Middletown, Pa., South Newark, N.J., and Richmond, Va., because it "knew it would lose the vote in those locations." On Dec. 10, the union withdrew a vote at a FedEx Freight facility in Pocono Summit, Pa. Con-way also has been targeted by the Teamsters, which announced last month that 74 drivers and dock- workers at Con-way Freight's facility in Miami Lakes, Fla., voted to join the union, joining Con-way workers at terminals in Los Angeles and Laredo, Texas. Con-way's Miami facil- ity was the third to vote in favor of Teamsters affiliation, while three Con-way hubs have voted against Teamsters affiliation. The union also withdrew a vote in Novem- ber at Con-way's location in Irvine, Calif. – James Jaillet Teamsters targets FedEx, Con-way workers TENNESSEE LAWMAK- ERS in 2016 may consider a weight-distance tax as a measure to boost state revenues for road funding, The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.
