his job in July 2014 consisted of
drilling six bores to a depth of
400 feet each with 1.25-inch
high-density polyethylene loops using
a mud rotary top-head drilling rig
for a closed-loop geothermal system.
The residence is located in the coastal
plains region of New Jersey on an
oceanfront block in a congested neigh-
borhood. The site was space-restricted
and the wells were drilled in an area
12 feet wide by 90 feet long. A mud
recycling system and vacuum truck
were used to control the drilling fluid
runoff to neighboring properties. Photo
