31 AGGREGATES MANAGER March 2015 Supply by Therese Dunphy, Editor-in-Chief tdunphy@randallreilly.com SCREEN PLAY When it comes to material sizing, screen media must work well under tough conditions. Here are some strong performers. McLanahan Corp. manufactures its own screen media in-house and offers a specialized screen media and mounting system used with dewatering screens. The McLanahan Type 02 Screen Media was specifically designed to carry heavy loads while resisting the severe slur- ry abrasion that can destroy conventional mounting systems. It is said to be extremely wear resistant, leading to longer up-times and less maintenance. The company also manufactures custom-engineered molds and screen media products to provide high-quality replacement media for a variety of applications, solving wear issues and increasing screen media life. McLanahan Corp. | www.mclanahan.com The new Sandvik WR screening media system has been developed to fit most screens on the market and is equipped with modular media on longitudinal profiles. It is made of rubber, or different grades of polyurethane. The screen panels are delivered cut to length in order to fit any screen width on the market. Sandvik says it is highly produc- tive, accurate, tough wearing, easily replaced, and environmentally focused. Sandvik Construction | www.construction.sandvik.com Metso Minerals's Trellex LS modular screening system is designed to help aggregates producers achieve increased throughput, reduced downtime, and lower costs. The modular system con- sists of the Trellex LS standard and Trel- lex LS HiPer range, and can be adapted to existing vibrating screens and media systems. The Trellex LS system features lightweight rubber or polyurethane modules and snap-on connections for safe, simple installation. Trellex LS is said to perform well when screening dry, wet, or sticky materials, and is de- signed to prevent blinding and pegging. Metso Minerals | www.metso.com The Armadex product line of high-performance rub- ber screen sections and liners, from Polydeck Screen Corp., is said to offer outstanding performance in the most abusive, top-deck screening applications. Polydeck says the screen and liners have proven to outlast competitive products as much as 2 to 1. Made of a customized blend of natural rubber and backed with HSLA steel, each section and liner can be cus- tomized to an operator's specific requirements for opening sizes and configurations, bolt-hole locations, and thickness (up to 4 inches thick). Screen sections are available up to 48 by 96 inches in size.
