ARBOR AGE A+ NEW PRODUCT AWARDS 6 SUMMER 2015 ARBOR AGE www.arborage.com Arbor Age looks back at standout new products* In alphabetical order, they are as follows: ARBORJET NUTRIROOT NutriRoot is a unique blend of essential minerals, seaweed extract, humates, surfactants and humec- tants designed to increase root development and reduce water stress in plants, trees, shrubs and lawns. NutriRoot is best used at initial installation to aid in establishing a strong root system for young plantings. It can be applied monthly throughout the growing season, particularly in hot, dry months to alleviate wa- ter stress in trees and landscape plants. Treatment uses include root development, transplant success, water stress management, nutrient deficiencies, sandy soils, dry soil conditions, and seasonal stress. NutriRoot liquid concentrate is now available in 8 fluid ounce, 32 fluid ounce hose-end sprayer, 32 fluid ounce tip-and-pour and 1 gallon, and is designed for use in watering cans, hose-end or hydraulic/pump sprayers, soil injectors and similar equipment. NutriRoot is now registered in most states. Contact your state's Department of Agriculture to determine if NutriRoot is registered in your state. LOFTNESS KWIK-TRIM Loftness Specialized Equipment released a new version of its Kwik-Trim compact mechanical tree trimmer with a turbocharged 47.6-hp. diesel engine. Compared with the previous Kwik-Trim model, the new unit is approximately 800 pounds heavier with an operating footprint that is 7 inches wider and 7 inches longer, helping to maximize stability on difficult terrain. Despite the increases in size and weight, the new Kwik-Trim is still compact enough to access tight jobsites and light enough to be towed behind a pickup. To further ease road transport, a new hose reel mount eliminates the need for external boom support during transport. Similar to the previous model, the Kwik-Trim has a fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) boom that telescopes to 53 feet, allowing the machine to handle the vast majority of trimming needs along rights-of-way. MORBARK BEEVER M12RX BRUSH CHIPPER Incorporating customer feedback, Morbark is adding a new 12-inch chipper to its Beever product line, going into production late May and available in June. A great entry-level machine, the M12RX is lighter and more economical than the M12R, while remaining just as robust, rugged and reliable. Powerful, compact and easily transportable, this unit is perfectly suited to utility line clearing, residential tree services, rental yards and municipalities. "We listened to our customers when designing the M12RX," said Casey Gross, Morbark tree care products sales manager. "This 12-inch chipper has the high productivity and quality that Morbark chippers are known for, in a lighter, more affordable package." Key features include an aggressive single top feed wheel to easily climb over material and increase chipping efficiency, and engine options that address customers' emissions regulations concerns. The M12RX will be available with an 89-hp. gasoline engine or a Tier 4 Final engine. PETZL ASCENSION As a handled rope clamp for rope ascents, the Ascension features an over-molded grip and ergonomic top for a comfortable and powerful grip when pulling with one or two hands. The Ascension handled rope clamp has a wide lower hole for easily attaching two carabiners for a lanyard and footloop. RAINBOW TREECARE SCIENTIFIC ADVANCEMENTS Q-CONNECT AND Q-GUN The Q-connect and Q-gun are two new tree injection devices from Rainbow Treecare Scientific Advancements. The Q-connect delivers tree health care products from the bottle to multiple injection tips for distribution into the vascular tissue of the tree. The Q-connect valves are brightly colored and can be quickly identified if the valve is opened or closed. The Q-gun delivers product from the bottle to the injection tip for distribution into the vascular tissue of the tree. The Q-connect and Q-gun were designed for professional applica- tors. They were also designed to be plug-less so that the applicator would not be leaving anything inside the tree and to save on the cost of plugs that can add up over time. The Q-gun can be used on its own or together with the Q-connect to improve productivity and applicator safety. Because the bottle cap and tips are universal on both systems, the Q-gun can be used to dose the Q-connect directly through the bottle cap; eliminating the need to measure and pour product. Q-connect tips are made from steel so that they won't bend or break. The Q-connect and Q-gun deliver the tree healthcare product to where it needs to be.
