ARBOR AGE A+ NEW PRODUCT AWARDS SEPPI M. MINIFORST CL FORESTRY MULCHER With a low, compact design (CL designates "compact loader") The Seppi M. Miniforst CL is equipped with a standard SAE interface, and is suitable for any skid-steer with available hydraulic flow between 50 and 140 l/min. This versatile mulcher is available with several hydraulic motor options. The most powerful and efficient of which, the variable displacement M-Boost motor, offers 40 percent more torque than standard motors. A high-flow circuit is recommended. With a new generation, patented, aggressive rotor, and efficient Mini Duo tungsten carbide-tipped hammers, the Miniforst CL can mulch wood and brush to 15 cm diameter, at working speeds up to 5 km/hr. A strong frame, made of wear-resistant steel, heavy-duty belt cover, well protected hydraulic cylinder, and protection chains all assure a long working life. The highly productive, ex- posed rotor working in concert with five rows of tempered counter cutters provide perfect mulching results. With working widths of 59, 69, and 79 inches, the Seppi M. Miniforst CL is available with a mechanical guard frame for felling operations and other optional features. www.arborage.com ARBOR AGE SUMMER 2015 7 SHERRILLTREE CHAIN SAW-PROTECTIVE CLIMBING PANTS The new chain saw pants from Sherrill- Tree — at a mere 3 pounds — are lighter than most on the market. Constructed of Armortex abrasion- resistant fabrics featuring DuPont Kevlar — and rein- forced at the crotch, knees, and inside the calf — they can handle the sit, stand, climb, cut, squat and crawl that tree climbers dish out. They feature wide belt loops and suspender buttons along with really comfort- able waist elastic. Angled front pockets have zippers to keep sawdust out. A functional rear pocket and a generous leg cargo pocket, complete with sleeve for your cell, also have zippers and/or Velcro. The cuffs have Velcro cinching, so you can seal off the tops of your boots to prevent sawdust from getting in. The abrasion-resistant, two-way stretch fabric in front, and the dirt- and oil-resistant, antibacte- rial, four-way stretch in the back, work together to cover the eight layers of breathable warp-knitted, type-A chain saw protection. STERLING ROPE HTP STATIC LINES Sterling Rope Company, Inc.'s HTP static lines are constructed from 100-percent high-tenacity polyester. HTP has low stretch properties and perfect handling for improved SRT work. The 3/8-inch (10mm) and 7/16-inch (11mm) HTP ropes are available in bicolor options. When an arborist is moving about the canopy, they may not be able to accurately determine how much rope is left on the ground. Hav- ing the ability to spot and locate the middle of your work line is an added safety benefit that Sterling now offers. Both the 3/8 inch and 7/16 inch are great for access and work due to their high efficiency and rugged durability. HTP bicolor ropes are available through Sterling Retailers and distributors, and online at sterlingrope.com. TEUPEN TC63A CANOPY SERIES COMPACT LIFT The TC63A, with a 70-foot working height and only 39-inch width, boasts 39-foot outreach with a fully loaded 551-pound basket. The TC63A is powered by a Kubota Z602 14.5-hp. diesel engine. The TC63A has an "in-the-basket" interactive dis- play, providing the operator with real-time guidance in machine functionality. This system also provides a one-button "Coming Home" function, which returns the machine to the stowed posi- tion automatically. Additionally, the TC63A comes standard with a cable remote control with full machine functionality — track drive, outrigger deployment and boom operation. Other key features include: Slope stabilization to 30 percent. Variable outrigger set-up for maximum flexibility. Hydraulic controlled height and width adjustable tracks. 180-degree rotatable and detachable basket. Black, high-durability tracks. VERMEER SC40TX STUMP CUTTER WITH RIDE-ON PLATFORM The Vermeer SC40TX stump cutter features a stand-on platform to drive the machine. Compared with traditional self-propelled stump cutters, op- erators will be able to more quickly maneuver the machine from stump to stump. A counter-rotating track undercarriage also enhances maneuverabil- ity by making it easier to reposition when cutting a stump, which greatly benefits straight-line cutting dimensions. The SC40TX has a hydraulic ground drive and cutter wheel, meaning there are no belts or chains to service. The SC40TX features two dedicated positions from which to operate the machine — traditional location on the side of the machine or from the stand-on platform on the back of the machine. At 36 inches wide, the SC40TX will work well in small areas and fit through standard gates. The SC40TX has a 40- hp. Kohler diesel engine. * Manufacturers were allowed to submit more than one new product for consideration, as long as the product was introduced between October 1, 2014 and May 31, 2015.
