GEAR GUIDE January 2016 | Overdrive | 43 GEAR GUIDE Plastic tank trailer Wabash's Brenner fiberglass reinforced plastic tank trailer is designed to transport sulfuric acid in concen- trations up to 98 percent. The FRP unit was developed with Poly-Coat Systems, a provider of nonmetallic ves- sels for corrosive products, to provide an alternative to stainless-steel tank trailers while allowing for increased payload and an extended life. It is suited for customers transporting bleach, hydrochloric acid, ferric chloride, oilfield chemicals and corrosive wastes. Wabash National Corp., wabashnational.com Regional tire Goodyear's Fuel Max RSA Region- al Tire incorpo- rates cool-running compounds to help lower rolling resis- tance and improve fuel efficiency. A tri-layer compound is designed to en- hance mileage, rolling resistance and curb impact resistance, while a non-evolving tread helps maintain traction. Super-tensile steel belts are engineered to add stability and enhance toughness, while the company's Unisteel casing con- struction helps facilitate added retreadability. A com- puter-optimized tread design and footprint is combined with the company's IntelliMax Rib Technology, which provides a stiffer tread area and helps provide lower roll- ing resistance and even wear. The tire is available in size 11R22.5, Load Range G, with more sizes planned. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., goodyeartrucktires.com Regional fuel efficiency. A tri-layer compound is designed to en- hance mileage, rolling resistance and curb impact resistance, while Back-up LED lamps Optronics' BUL003CB 4-inch round and BUL002CB 6-inch oval back-up lamps are the latest additions to the company's One LED line of single-diode lamps. Both are engineered to provide a service life of about 100,000 hours and to meet federal photometric requirements for visibility and safety. The lenses and housings are made of robust polycarbonate material that is sonically welded, while the lamps employ a solid-state surface-mount design that helps protect their electronics against moisture, shock and vibration. Both grommet- and flange- mount versions are available with standard PL-3 and weather-tight termination options, allowing the lamps to make use of existing har- ness connections for installation flexibility and cost-effective retrofitting.
