25 Oil Prophets Meet Your New Board Members Having been raised in and around the family business, Dustin Shirley has always had his heart set on following in his father and grandfather's footsteps. Dustin says, "My number one goal for the company moving forward is to be able to grow to a point that we can remain sustainable and provide a profitable business for generations to come." Home Oil Company, started by Dustin's grandfather, Tom Shirley, is in its third generation and will be 50 years old this year! Home Oil started out with one convenience store and has grown and evolved over the years with many acquisitions and constructions. David is Regional Manager for S&D Coffee & Tea Company, one of the largest manufacturers of coffee & tea products. They supply C-Stores as well as nursing homes and hotels. David has been with S&D for 15 years and is responsible for most of Alabama, and parts of Tennessee and Mississippi. David and his wife, Michelle, have been married 22 years. They have five children and seven grandchildren. Having lived in Gulfport, MS for years, they recently moved back to the Birmingham area, which has allowed them to be closer to their family. David and Michelle love spending time with their children and grandchildren. They enjoy playing golf and exploring new things with the family. The company also has 3 wholesale bulk plants distributing fuel and oil to industrial and farm accounts. Dustin believes, "the P&CMA is a vital part to the success of our business as well as our industry. It provides a platform for businesses of all sizes in our industry to be able to connect with one another as well as help one another through the various hurdles we may encounter in the industry. It most importantly gives us a platform to come together and unite as one to be able to fight government regulations that would be detrimental and costly to the industry." P&CMA has always been a part of Dustin's life. "My father and grandfather have always been extremely strong advocates for the (AOA) P&CMA." Now, Dustin and his wife, Leah, have made P&CMA part of their life. While serving on the board of directors, Dustin hopes to help grow the membership for the organization. He also plans to challenge and help fight the gas tax proposals as well as any other taxes that may be brought to pass over this election year that may directly affect or influence the industry. Stephen Davis returns to the P&CMA Associate Board of Directors again this year. In 2013, Stephen joined the association and served on the associate board. As a banker, Stephen believes belonging to P&CMA has provided many learning opportunities. "I have learned a tremendous amount about the industry by being involved and it has allowed me to structure various programs at ServisFirst to uniquely meet the needs of oil jobbers and convenience store owners." Stephen has been in banking and financial services for 13 years and has been with ServisFirst Bank for 11 years.
