Cedarburg Winter Festival g the barrel races, the pond opens to family skating or skate at the ice rink at Cedar Creek Park on Portland Road. Grown-up fun is on tap Sat- urday evening from 7-9pm at Cool Brew & Tunes, a beer and food tasting featuring music by the Piano Brew Du- eling Pianos. The event at the Cedarburg Community Center includes a home brew com- petition. Tickets are available at the center from 10am-4pm or at the door. Sunday morning, enjoy the Pancake Breakfast at the Community Center, 8-11:30am. At 10:30am, the "under 7 set" ventures outdoors to hunt for treats. Also on Sunday, top dogs compete in the Dog Weight Pull Competi - tion from 10am-4pm. Throughout the week- end, merchants feature special sales, shopping, live music and family activities. The Shops of Cedar Creek Settlement feature live music on Saturday and Sunday, with Cedar Creek Winery offering complimentary sampling and the settle- ment's boutique shops welcoming browsers. Beautifully preserved 19th century architecture makes Cedarburg a popular desti- nation. The entire downtown was named to the National Register of Historic Places in the mid-1980s. Stone build- ings, picturesque churches and Victorian homes create a delightful spot for strolling, shopping and dining. MORE F E S T I VA L S The fun continues with the following events sponsored by Festivals of Cedarburg, Inc., Strawberry Festival June 25-26 All about the strawberry, as in the "Original" Strawberry Brat, Strawberry Blush Wine and strawberry-themed contests. "Arts on the Avenue" and lots of live music add to the fun. Wine & Harvest Festival Sept. 17-18 Highlights include a farmer's market, "Arts on the Avenue," Cedar Creek Winery's award-winning wines, Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, Giant Pumpkin Regatta, grape stomping and more.
