This quote by Colin Montgomerie,
etched in a metal plaque in the

The Pete Dye Course at French Lick.
When Tour champions have profound
statements like these about a golf
course, even the best amateurs may
wonder if the course is too difficult
to play or will it beat them up badly.
After my first experience playing this
intimidating-looking golf course,
the pure pleasure of my round was
the direct result of a knowledgeable
and helpful forecaddie, as well as
selecting the correct tees from the six
thoughtfully placed tee boxes that are
offered. You now are given a fighting
chance to enjoy a great round of golf
with these options and services.
We had the pleasure of traveling to
the resort in April of 2015 prior to the
2015 Sr. PGA Championship being
hosted at French Lick. Unfortunately,
with tormenting rains and pea-soup
fog blanketing the upper half of
the Pete Dye course, we opted to
play it another time when we could
truly enjoy this one-of-a-kind Dye
masterpiece. Our travels allowed us
to return in late October when a cold
snap followed by a pleasant warming
trend changed the forever miles of
green forestry landscape into stunning
vistas painted with red, gold, yellow
and orange colors … almost overnight.
