As many golfers compile a list of "must-play" courses in their lifetime, the Pete Dye and Donald Ross courses at French Lick will be ones that will top your list to play more than once. The daily regular rate at The Pete Dye Course is $350 with cart and allows you to play unlimited golf for the entire day. So if you enjoy 36 holes or more, you will definitely get your money's worth of world-class golf. This rate is the only rate offered for the Dye course any day, any season. In addition, a forecaddie is mandatory at $30 for each golfer, not including gratuity. John Evans, our forecaddie, is a local from the historic town of Orleans, who spent a good part of his Sunday afternoon with us. His knowledge of the golf course and tips on where to play your shots, as well as taking care of our clubs, raking bunkers, locating balls, etc. made the round truly enjoyable. He also shared historic facts about the resort and golf course during our time with him. He truly enhanced our experience immensely! We asked John what he hears most from golfers after they play the Dye Course, and he told us: "The Pete Dye Course at French Lick offers dramatic elevations, stunning vistas, 400 acres of beautiful views … and the challenge of the course" in so many words. We played the popular Donald Ross Course the following day and really enjoyed this challenging and scenic course in a relaxed and pleasant paced atmosphere. Watch out for the 18th green though as you approach the clubhouse. It can swiftly ruin a good round with a few bad shots to the elevated super-fast undulating green that rolls forever! While you are making your final last putts, one of the staff members has been busy cleaning your clubs and warmly greets you upon your finish. Rates with cart for The Donald Ross Course are $90 Weekday and $120 Weekend with a Twilight rate of $65 after 4pm and a Replay rate of $20 (April through October). Off-season rates (November through March) are $75 any day with a Replay Rate of $20. On a separate note, if you are looking for a bite to eat following your round at the Donald Ross course, "Hagen's" at the Donald Ross Clubhouse offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a nice menu variety, cocktails and wines … along with wonderful service in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
