T U R F R E N OVAT I O N E Q U I P M E N T 44 May/June 2016 Landscape and Irrigation www.landscapeirrigation.com PRODUCT ROUND-UP Classen PRO HTS20 Hydro-Drive overseeder Classen's PRO HTS20 Hydro-Drive overseeder is a self-propelled machine that provides 13 seed rows in a 20-inch swath for a thicker, carpet-like coverage. The unit's double- edge double-blade reel spaces the blades a narrow 1.5 inches apart to provide greater than 15 percent more rows of seed than competitive units. Depth can be set in any of 10 settings from 0 inches to 1.625 inches, to attain the proper depth for the seed. This allows for better seed placement to refresh existing turf, establish new grass or tackle a weedy lawn. Classen's PRO overseeder features a 40-pound-capacity floating seed box that follows the contours of the terrain — whether it includes bumps, dips or uneven areas — to ensure consistent seed placement. The floating seed box also locks in place for hill or slope seeding. A seed agitator inside the seed box breaks up seed clumps caused by dew and humidity, allowing seeds to drop from the hopper through the seed box slits. Ecolawn ECO 250 Ecolawn Applicator's ECO 250 is a walk-behind self-propelled broadcast spreader. The ECO 250's controls and levers are ergonomically designed for comfort, control and accessibility. A newly designed hopper eliminates material bridging with smooth, steep sides; and its live conveyor system and agitator maintain steady material flow for consistent, even spreading. The ECO 250 is lightweight (314 pounds), highly maneuverable, and handles wide-open lawns and turf areas with speed and ease. It features four-wheel design, 180-degree spread with dual-reverse spinner mechanism, a 5.5-hp. Honda GX 160 engine, and an 11.5-cubic-foot-capacity hopper. Exmark 20-inch Slicer Seeder The Exmark 20-inch Slicer Seeder performs three jobs — verticutting, dethatching and overseeding — with each pass. Durable high-carbon steel blades remove thatch and provide maximum seed-to-soil contact to ensure superior seed germination. A large- capacity 40-pound seed hopper increases productivity, allowing the 20-inch Slicer Seeder to handle larger jobs with fewer stops. The large-diameter mixer regulates seed flow based on ground speed to ensure even seed delivery in all conditions. Infinitely variable hydrostatic drive with powered reverse makes the 20-inch Slicer Seeder as easy to maneuver and operate as a self-propelled mower. A Subaru EX 270 engine delivers reliable, quiet and fuel-efficient power. Grasshopper AERA-vator The Grasshopper Company's PTO-driven AERA-vator implement relieves compaction and aerates turf without prior irrigation, leaving no cores to clean up. Oscillating, forged-steel tines penetrate and fracture sand and loosen hard, dry soils without slicing or cutting, preserving and encouraging root development. The AERA-vator provides effective aeration with minimal surface disruption, so turf is available for use immediately after treatment. Available in 40- and 60-inch models, the AERA-vator is perfect for any application: improving (low spot) drainage in turf areas that tend to pool; reducing the need for chemical applications through improved absorption; lifting and freshening beds without disturbing mulch; and preparing bare ground for seeding or sodding. It is compatible with Grasshopper Model 623T and any 700 or 900 Series power units.
